Black Lentil Soup

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 small onion, cut into small cubes
  • ½ carrot, cut into small cubes
  • 1 celery stick, cut into small cubes
  • ½ teaspoon sumac
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper, crushed
  • 1 whole garlic clove
  • 1 cup lentil, soaked in water
  • 2 cups chicken stock
  • 1 tablespoon parsley, roughly chopped
  • 1 tablespoon mint, roughly chopped

Steps

  • Bring lentil to boil in water and remove them from the fire before they are completely cooked
  • Heat a pot and add the oil, then onions, carrots, celery and garlic, stirring until the onion color becomes transparent and then add spices while stirring.
  • Add the lentils, mix and add broth
  • Leave it until the lentils are cooked, add parsley and mint with mixing, then remove from the heat and serve the soup.
