Lamb chops with dried fruit sauce

  • 3 pieces, lamb chops
  • ½ teaspoon, Salt
  • ¼ tablespoon, black pepper
  •  2 tablespoons, vegetable oil
  •  1 onion
  • ½ cup, dried apricots, soaked in water
  • ½ cup, prunes, soaked in water
  • 1 stick, cinnamon
  • 2, anise stars
  • 1 tablespoon, brown sauce
  • 1 teaspoon, honey
  • Water, for soakin


  • Soak prunes and apricots in lukewarm water overnight. If you’re short on time, alternatively, soak it in boiling water for 2-3 hours.
  • Heat oil on medium flame, add onions and leave it until slightly caramelized without burning. If it starts to burn or change its color quickly, add a bit of water, to cool the pot quickly.
  • Add dried apricots, stir until tender. Then add the prunes and mix it.
    Note, prunes are softer than dried apricots, so no need to stir the prunes for long.
  • Add cinnamon, anise star, brown sauce, and stir, then pour some of the water used for soaking.
  • Add honey, salt, and black pepper, stir it all together. Your sauce is ready!
  • On a hot grill, place the chops and season them with a little salt and black pepper, and cook them as desired. You’re ready to serve!
