Umm Ali with coconut milk and nuts

  • 6 – 8, Fillo pastry sheets
  • 1 cup, cream
  • 3 cups, coconut milk
  • 5 tablespoons, sugar
  • As desired, clarified butter
  • To taste, mixed nuts


  • Grease each Fillo pastry sheet on both sides, and toss it in the oven on low flame till it changes color to golden.
  • Meanwhile, on low flame, mix milk with cream and sugar till the sugar melts and mixes well into the milk and cream.
  • Now, grease tagine with clarified butter, put half the amount of baked Fillo pastry sheets in it, then add nuts and the rest of the of Fillo pastry sheets. Now, pour in the milk-cream mixture.
  • Toss it in the oven at 230° Celsius until the face turns red. You’re now ready to serve!
