Three groups of sapphire hunters encounter big problems underground. A lack of water, wrong turns and big machines all cause issues for the teams.

Deep in the heart of the Australian Outback lie some of the largest gems on the planet. Passionate teams take big risks to hunt down these elusive treasures.

The Richardsons hunt for fresh sapphire grounds. Will this big gamble pay off Lost underground, the Mifsuds have a radical solution. Ray and Paul enter a danger zone.

A tangle with a jack hammer could cost the Mifsuds a huge sapphire. The Rubyvale rocks bring the Old Timers unstuck, while Brianna faces her own set of disasters.

Huge floods and a mini tornado hit the Gemfields. Max fights his way to his mining lease, but did the flooding fill or destroy his dam? Todd and Brianna get bad news.

It's almost the end of the mining season. Water in the dam means one last chance for sapphires for Max and Glenn. It's terror in the tunnels for Todd and Brianna.

Old Timer, Ray, and his best mate Paul set foot on a new claim for the first time. The Apprentices begin connecting two mine shafts via an underground drive.

After a run of bad fortune, the Bushies are back digging on Max's claim. The Richardsons return to a long-forgotten claim and decide if it's worth reopening.

After missing the mark to connect their shafts underground, the Mifsuds call on their kids for help. Ray finally gets decent sapphires out of his new claim.

The annual Gemfields Festival is approaching, and Todd and Bri are madly stockpiling gems. The Mifsuds undertake yet another massive maintenance job.

Ray takes on the job of bashing and sawing through his biggest rough stones. The Bushies reckon they've finally hit payday. But is it wishful thinking?

Anthony goes back to school, learning to cut gems, while Jodie enjoys the peace as she digs alone. The Richardsons dig deep at the old Rabbi Claim.
