Phoebe, Monica and Chandler compete to get Rachel a date for a charity ball. Joey's fridge is broken and he tries to cajole his friends into helping him buy a new one.

Joey gets an audition for the lead character in a new TV show. When the audition is rescheduled, Chandler takes the message but forgets to tell Joey.

Ross recruits his friends to go with him on his first meeting with Elizabeth's father, who ends up hitting if off with Rachel. Joey may be fired from his sitcom when he has a fight with C.H.E.E.S.E.'s operator.

When Paul threatens to fire Ross if he doesn't stop seeing his daughter, Ross and Elizabeth take a trip up to her dad's mountain cabin. Unfortunately, Paul has the same idea and takes Rachel at the same time.

Chandler and Phoebe shop for a ring for Monica. Chandler finds the perfect one but Phoebe accidentally lets it get away.

Chandler plans to propose to Monica at dinner but his plans go awry when Richard shows up. Phoebe and Joey join Rachel at a charity auction.

Monica struggles to decide between Richard and Chandler. Meanwhile, Rachel and Phoebe discuss their backup plans if they are not married before the time they're 40.

Everybody toasts the engagement. Ross and Rachel debate a "bonus night" and when Monica catches them kissing she thinks Rachel is trying to steal the spotlight from her engagement.

Everybody begins planning for the wedding and Monica learns what her parents have done with her wedding fund; Phoebe moves in with Ross and Joey teases Rachel about her late-night reading material.

Chandler's efforts to bond with Monica's father backfire during a racquetball game. Meanwhile, Monica tries desperately to reproduce Phoebe's grandmother's secret cookie recipe.

Rachel considers hiring an inexperienced but handsome man over a better qualified woman as her exec assistant. Monica, Chandler and Ross engage in a war of secret sharing after Monica and Chandler vow to be more honest.

A non-photogenic Chandler can't get a good photo of him and Monica. Rachel plans to get closer to her hunky assistant by encouraging him to hang out with Joey but the plan sours when he picks up on Joey's moves.
