Whittaker vs Romero

UFC 225 is headlined by a rematch for the UFC Middleweight Championship. First time around Robert Whittaker overcame an early knee injury to best Olympic silver medalist Yoel Romero by a unanimous decision. When they run it back, all eyes will be on whether Whittaker’s knee has sufficiently healed and if Romero can this time take advantage of any weakness in the defending champion. Also on the card, Rafael dos Anjos faces the trash-talking Colby Covington and former WWE Superstar CM Punk makes his long-awaited Octagon return against Mike Jackson.

Cowboy vs Edwards

Octagon legend Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone rides into Singapore to face #14 ranked Welterweight Leon Edwards. Victory for the veteran ‘Cowboy’ would be a record-breaking 21st in the UFC’s Octagon but he will face a tough test against Edwards, who is on a five-fight winning streak, the most recent an impressive TKO finish against Poland’s Peter Sobotta in March. Also on the card, Ovince Saint Preux takes on Tyson Pedro and Jessica-Rose Clark fights Jessica Eye in a Women’s Flyweight bout.

UFC 226: Miocic vs Cormier
Miocic vs Cormier

Two of the baddest men on the planet go head-to-head in the Octagon as reigning UFC Heavyweight Champion Stipe Miocic opposes reigning UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel ‘DC’ Cormier. DC will be making a return to Heavyweight for the first time since 2013, and will become the fourth two-weight champion in UFC history if he can beat Miocic. However, Cleveland’s Miocic has looked unstoppable since he beat Fabricio Werdum for the UFC Heavyweight strap, and will have a reach advantage of almost eight inches against the shorter Cormier. UFC 226 will also host another Championship bout, with UFC Featherweight Champion Max Holloway taking on the undefeated Brian Ortega. Holloway is on an 11-fight win-streak, but will need to be at the top of his game against Ortega, who has scored impressive victories over Cub Swanson and Frankie Edgar in recent months.
