GoT fans, winter is coming… In April 2019.

Showrunners David Benioff and DB Weiss have kept the details of the series finale under wraps, but worry not! Our little birds have travelled the seven kingdoms and brought back whispers.

Read on to find out what we know so far about Game of Thrones Season 8, and remember that you can watch the series finale exclusively with OSN on HBO, same minute as the US!

THE EPISODES

If you've sworn fealty like us to one of HBO's biggest TV shows, you know the wait for the final season has been unbearable - with still some time to go until the last 6 episodes.

But, by all accounts, our patience will be rewarded. Showrunner David Benioff addressed the press at the 70th Primetime Emmy Awards (read our recap here!) and said Season 8 was "the biggest thing we’ve done.”

“It’s quite extraordinary what the crew and the actors created,” he added  “The last season is far beyond what we attempted before."

"It is taking a f***ing long time — and I hope it will be worth it.”

ONE IRON THRONE, ONE. EPIC. BATTLE

Remember the Battle of the Basards? And Blackwater? And Watchers on the Wall?

'Course you do.

Well... The finale showdown for the Iron Throne is likely to top all of them! The scene took 55 consecutive days of filming to complete - more than any major battle has ever taken in the history of GoT production! For scale, the already impressively huge Battle of the Bastards and the Goldroad ambush each took approximately a month to film.

What's even more intriguing is the location of what is set to be the finale's biggest battle: the Moneyglass Base in Northern Ireland, where most Winterfell sets have been built.

A DIVISIVE ENDING

It seems the entire cast and production team of Game of Thrones are keeping the details of the HBO hit under wraps... so we leave you with this intriguing quote from Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark.

"It was really satisfying for us. Who knows if it will be satisfying for the fans.

I think a lot of fans will be disappointed and a lot of fans will be over the moon, I think."
